Claude Young Purcell

Mr. Claude Young Purcell, 85, of Willis Road, Elberton, husband of the late Debra White Purcell, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, at his residence. 

Mr. Purcell was born in Augusta on January 1, 1940, son of the late Charles Allen Purcell and June Wiggins Purcell. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army, a retired beer salesman, and a Mason. 

Surviving are his children: James “Jim” and Beth Purcell of Elberton, Marty Purcell of Locust Grove, and Mike and Shannon Purcell of Monticello; siblings: Lovena and Steve Mallory of North Carolina and Allen Purcell of Missouri; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Along with his wife, he is preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Garner.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
