Colleen Hammond Haralson

Mrs. George ‘Colleen’ Hammond Haralson, 96, of Washington Highway, Elberton, wife of 66 years to the late Kelsey Smith Haralson, passed away peacefully, with her son and daughter-in-law by her side, on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Nancy Hart Nursing Center.

Mrs. Haralson was born in Elberton on August 25, 1928, daughter of the late Jeptha Brown "Jake" Hammond and Willie Mae “Bill” Lyle Hammond. She was a graduate of Elberton High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Elberton. Colleen loved her family dearly, enjoyed flowers, and never missed an opportunity to read a good book.

She is survived by her son, Randy Haralson and his wife Debbie; sister, Barbara Ann Hammond; grandsons: Jake Haralson and his wife Brittley and Caleb Haralson; and great-granddaughter, Brylee Haralson.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 13, from 1:00-1:45p.m. at Berry Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00p.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by the Rev. Gary Purvis. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.

Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice.
