Connally Hammond Veal

Mr. Connally Hammond Veal, Jr., 64, of Bowman, Georgia passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Veal was preceded in death by his parents, Connally Hammond Veal, Sr. and Grace Howell Veal.He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tina Erwin Veal, with whom he had celebrated 27 years of marriage prior to her death in 2008. Connally was employed by Adams Building Supply in Hartwell.He had worked there for almost 24 years, and was in charge of ordering/purchasing. Mr. Veal is survived by his daughter, Candice Veal and her fiancé, Mark Jones; his son, Trey Veal and girlfriend, Jessika Stanley; and his “adopted” son, John Shaw and his wife, Priscilla.He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Betty Erwin, and many extended family members. A graveside service to celebrate Mr. Veal’s life was held on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Falling Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Gary Purvis officiating.Pallbearers were Trey Veal, Mark Jones, John Shaw, Jerry Posey, Adam Erwin, and Slater Erwin. Mr. Veal lay in state in Falling Creek Baptist Church just prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements for Mr. Connally Veal, Jr. were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
