Cullen Bryant Howell

Cullen Bryant Howell, 89, of 3032 Anderson Highway, Elberton, husband of Valeria Gulley Howell, died Friday, December 25, at the Elbert Memorial Hospital. Born in Hart County, he was a son of the late Thomas J. Howell and Ada Brown Howell. He was a member of the Rock Branch Baptist Church and retired building inspector for the city of Elberton. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII. Survivors include his wife, of the home; sons and daughters-n-law, Bobby and Cindy Howell of Elberton, Larry and Judy Howell of N. Augusta, Don and Dawn Howell of Lagrange and Tommy and Susie Howell of Belton, SC; Sisters, Hertha Robinson of Greenville; Grace Veal of Elberton, Bobbie Kirkland of Winter Park, Florida; brother, Walton Howell of Elberton; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Tuesday, Dec. 29, at the Rock Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Wright officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church to lie in state from 1-2 PM. The family is at the home and will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at Berry Funeral Home.
