Daniel Dean Berkland, Sr.

Daniel Dean Berkland Sr. age 69, of Elberton, GA passed away on Wednesday, December 18th, 2024. 

Anyone who knew him would agree that Dan made the world a better place and he will be sorely missed. Dan was born in Wahoo, Nebraska, the son of Orlan and Betty Berkland. He was a respected and loved member of the Elbert County School System’s IT Department, a volunteer for the 911 Call Center and the beloved sound guy at Elberton Christian Church as well as The Elbert Theater. 

He is survived by his mother, Betty Berkland of Elberton GA; daughter, Bobbie Brown, husband Travis Brown and their 3 children: Ashleigh, Adam and Andrew of Atlanta GA, son, Dan Berkland Jr of Atlanta GA, daughter, Deanna Franklin and Husband Ryan Franklin of NC and son, Matt Berkland, wife Alisha Berkland and their 3 daughters: Aurora, Luna and Astrid as well as his brother Mark Berkland Sr and wife Betsy Berkland of Eustis FL and brother Tim Berkland and wife Janice Berkland of Lynchburg VA. 

To honor the deceased’s wishes, there will be no public funeral service. The family will gather for a private cremation ceremony at a later date. In the meantime, we invite all of you to please privately celebrate Dan’s memory in your own ways. I know that he will be with us all in spirit. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.
