Mrs. Darlena Moon Carey, 67, of Highway 172 West, Bowman, wife of William T. Carey, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Carey was born in Royston on January 8, 1948, to the late Harvey and Nancy Rousey Moon. She was the retired owner of Carey’s Convenience Store in Bowman. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, William T. Carey of the home; daughter, Angela M. Pullian and her husband John of Bowman; grandson, Steven Pullian of Bowman; siblings and their spouses: Herman and Jenny Moon, Aaron and Geraldine Moon, Coy and Martha Moon, Charles “Fud Dud” and Betty Moon, Pauline and Junior Seigler, Barbara Mason, Foy Mae and Bobby Rucker, and Deborah and Bruce Kesler; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Hubert Moon and Beverly Rucker. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, January 17, at 11:00a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Kesler officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family is at the residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 7:00-9:00p.m. on Friday evening.
