David Gipson Beggs

Mr. David Gipson Beggs, 60, of Canon, Georgia passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center. Mr. Beggs was the son of the late Robert Elzie Beggs, Jr. and Aurie Belle Dickerson Beggs.He was the beloved husband of Deanna Lankford Beggs, having celebrated 27 years of marriage together.David worked as a maintenance planner for Fiber Visions.He was a member of the Church of God, and faithfully served the Lord through music ministry and helping others. In addition to his wife, Deanna, David is survived by his children:Crystal Raymer(fiancé John Daniels) of Puyallup, WA, Daniel Beggs(Anna) of Tarpon Springs, FL, Karen Little(Chris) of Carnesville, Randall Beggs(Christie) of Colbert, Amy Witcher(Kenneth) of Danielsville, Stephanie Stiles(Joey Gibson) of Greenville, SC, and Alan Parham(Brandi) of Elberton; and sixteen grandchildren.He also leaves behind six siblings: Daisey Maddux, Martha Hammond, Patricia McBrayer, Jerry Beggs, Jean Jewell, and Susan Suttles. David was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Beggs. A service to celebrate Mr. Beggs’ life was held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. at the Elberton Church of God, with Rev. James Gunn officiating.A time of visitation was held Wednesday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Elberton Church of God, 1026 Hartwell Hwy., Elberton, Georgia.
