David Winters

Mr. David Lee Winters, 53, of Elberton, formerly of Savannah, Georgia passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Wills Memorial Hospital.A native of Dothan, Alabama, Mr. Winters was the son of Robert Winters and the late Judith Ann Lambert. Mr. Winters retired from Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah approximately seven months ago after 33 years of employment as a Leadman in the electrical department.He enjoyed fishing, watching football, Nascar Races and the cooking channel.He was an avid Alabama College Football fan. A Memorial Service to celebrate Mr. Winters’ life was held Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ruckersville United Methodist Church with Rev. Bryan Smith officiating. Survivors include his wife, Michelle Sell Winters, Elberton; Father and Step Mother,Robert “Bob” and Linda Winters, of Sun City Center, Florida; two sons, Jared Winters (Noore), and Daniel Winters (Jordan) all of Savannah; one daughter, Susan Kessler (Tad), of Elberton; brother, Mark Winters (Linda), of Savannah; one sister Kim Ruthbun, of Savannah; and five grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Hospital, 5901 Peachwood Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, GA30328 in memory of Mr. Winters. Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton cared for the family of Mr. David Lee Winters.
