Mrs. Deborah Susan “Debby” Vinson Haynes, 67, of Sam Tate Road, Elberton, wife of 43 years to Clyde Lee “Pete” Haynes, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia, GA.
Debby was born in Washington on February 15, 1953, daughter of the late Dennis Herbert Vinson and Anna Frances Clark Vinson. She was a 1971 graduate of Washington-Wilkes High School. “Mama Deb”, as she was lovingly known, owned and operated an in-home daycare for over 25 years. Debby was a member of Northside Baptist Church and will be remembered for cracking jokes and making everyone laugh.
Survivors, in addition to her husband Pete, include her children: Brandon Haynes of Columbus, Victor Haynes of Elberton, and Petrea and Tim Adams of Colbert; sister, Kathryn Wilhite of Elberton; grandchildren: Rachel Adams, Will Adams, Brayden Haynes, and Layla Haynes; niece, Denise Wilhite Mills; and numerous other nieces and nephews who she held very dear to her heart.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Charles Dennis “Chuck” Vinson; and nephew, Greg Wilhite.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, October 31, at 12 noon in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.
The family is at the residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 10:00-11:30a.m. on Saturday prior to the service.
