Denney Segars

Mr. John Denney Segars, 66, of Nickville Road, Dewy Rose, husband of Amy Madden Segars, finished his course in faith on Friday, September 19, 2014, at Athens Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.   Mr. Segars was born in Elbert County on February 25, 1948, to the late Curtis and Sarah Denney Segars. He was a farmer, a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church and former Treasure of Deep Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Amy Madden Segars of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Kevin Williamson of Dewy Rose; daughter-in-law, Kathie Segars of Dewy Rose; grandchildren: Keelei, Tyler, and Braydon Segars, Eli Williamson, and Anna Jaudon; sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Lonnie Deal of Dewy Rose; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Bill and Jean Madden, Wayne and Nancy Madden, George Frank and Jane Madden, Russell and Sheila Madden, and Byron and Linda Madden. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Bryan Segars. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, September 21, at 3:00p.m. in the Deep Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Julian Driver, Lee Driver, Buster Webb, Danny Smith, Jerry Hewell and Donnie Cordell honored as pallbearers. The family will receive friends in the Webb Fellowship Hall at Deep Creek Baptist Church from 2:00p.m. until the service hour on Sunday afternoon.
