Dicie Scoggins Rogers

Ms. Dicie Maybelle Scoggins Rogers, 71, of Hwy 172 E, Bowman, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019, at her residence.

Dicie was born in Anderson, SC on August 8, 1948, daughter of the late Robert Toombs Scoggins and Katie Elizabeth Wilder Scoggins Partain. She was a weaver having retired from Glen Raven and a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed bird watching and fishing, and was happiest when spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her companion, Steven Joel Hall of the residence; children: Lynn and Daniel Brown of Elberton and Lance and Bobbie Scarborough of Dearing; grandchildren: Sonya Renee Brown, Amy Elizabeth Brown, Autumn Brooke Scarborough, and Daniel Allen Brown; great-grandchildren: William Kash Massey, Landon Charles Spearman, Keyli Raine Brown, and Chase Matthew Spearman; brothers: Victor and Dora Scoggins of Bowman and Greg Scoggins of Elberton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers: Billy Joe Scoggins and Larry Scoggins.

The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 3:00-5:00p.m. on Sunday, October 6. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Monday, October 7, at 4 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Mize officiating.

The family is at the residence of Daniel and Lynn Brown, 1126 Flatwoods Road, Elberton.
