Mrs. Dollie Florine Dickerson Cox, 85, of Pine HiIl Drive, Elberton, wife of 53 years to the late Dewey W. Cox, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Cox was born in Elbert County on June 17, 1929, to the late Onnie B. and Quillie Denney Dickerson. She was a homemaker and a former Cafeteria worker at Beaverdam Elementary School. She attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Elberton. Survivors include her four daughters and sons-in-law: Beverly and Keith Haws of Mesquite, Texas, Barbara and Darrell Moon of Elberton, Brenda and George Willoughby of Elberton, and Bonnie Cox of Elberton; sister, Dorothy Parkman of Elberton; five grandchildren and their spouses: Shane and Kelley Moon, Derrick and Jennifer Moon, Chad and Shelly Willoughby, Missy and Shane Poss, and Kristie and T.J. Capps; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Sallie Lou Thornton, Eula Bell Franklin, J.T. Dickerson, Pierce Thomas Dickerson, Pearl Carithers, Jettie Mae Woodall, Nancy Kornegay, Lee Onnie Tate, Gladys Griggs, and Clarence Dickerson. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, February 24, at 11:00a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Dennis Middleton officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family is at the residence of Darrell and Barbara Moon, 2019 Indian Hill Road, Elberton, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 10:00a.m. until time for the service on Tuesday morning.
