Mrs. Dolly Fay Richey Clay, 80, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 at her home surrounded by her children and family. Mrs. Clay was born in Anderson, South Carolina to the late Clyde and Iola Billings Richey.She was the widow of John Wesley Clay, and had worked as a manager at Sky City years ago.Mrs. Clay was a devoted member of Concord United Methodist Church, and loved working through the years in Vacation Bible School.In addition to her husband, Mrs. Clay was preceded in death by two sons, Curtis and Mack Donald; a sister, Helen Peters;a brother, Jake Richey; and a son-in-law, Rickey Bailey. Mrs. Clay is survived by two daughters: Angela Bailey and Diane Donald of Elberton; two sons: Johnny Donald and Michael Donald, both of Elberton; and a brother, Donald Hall of Anderson, SC.She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Juanita Baldwin of Anderson, SC, and Betty Freeman of Laurens, SC; and friends who were like daughters, Teresa Bryant and Chris Franklin. A service to celebrate Mrs. Clay’s life was held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in Concord United Methodist Church, with Rev. Thomas Moon and Rev. Bryan Smith officiating.A time of visitation began at 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service.Interment followed in Elmhurst Cemetery with Anthony Donald, M.J. Donald, Tony Woodson, Joey Morgan, Denny Donald, Gary Booth, and Kenneth Ayers serving as pallbearers. Arrangements for Mrs. Dolly Clay were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
