Donald Harold Patterson

Donald Harold Patterson, Sr. 70, of 1111 Shadyside Lane, Madison, Georgia husband of Wendy Weathers Patterson passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospice House in Athens, Georgia. Born in Ilion, New York, March 4, 1942 to the late Edgar and Dorothy Patterson. He was a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church in Madison, Georgia and was a retired Maintenance Engineer from Offshore Oil an was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army. Left to cherish his memories include his wife of the home Wendy Weathers Patterson, sons Donald Patterson, Jr. of Ilion, New York; Shawn Patterson of Ilion, New York; Scott Patterson of New Port News, Virginia; Thom-son Patterson of Lawrenceville, Georgia; and Basil Weathers of Madison, Georgia; daughters Vikki Smithson of Ilion, New York; Melissa Patterson of Lawville, Georgia; and Tracey Glass of Lawrenceville, Georgia; brother William "Bill" Patterson of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister Carol Patterson of Ilion, New York; fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Claude Patterson and sister Joyce Patterson. Memorial services celebrating his life will be held at 1PM on Sunday, January 6, in the Sugar Creek Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. William Jackson.
