Doris Dover Burt

Mrs. Doris Dover Burt, 86, formerly of Burt Rd., Carlton, GA wife of the late Marvin Andrew Burt Jr., passed away peacefully Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Quiet Oaks Nursing Home in Crawford, GA.

Mrs. Burt was born December 18, 1931 in Maxeys, GA to Lee Roy Dover and Holly Fleming Dover, the youngest of nine children, she spent her whole life as a homemaker for her beloved family. She lived most of her life in the Sandy Cross community, where she spent countless hours working in her many flower beds that she grew and shared with her friends and neighbors. Mrs. Burt was a member of Millstone Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended as long as her health allowed.

She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law: David and Margie Burt, Danny and Kathy Burt, Darrell and Tammy Burt; sisters: Ruth Wood and Sue Moore; three grandchildren: Holly Jenkins, Jeremy Burt, Hannah Powell; four step-grandchildren: Hannah Gladstone, Christie Brown, Dwayne Brown and Eric Brown and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a step-grandson: Drew Gladstone.

Funeral services to celebrate Mrs. Burt's life will be held 2PM, Saturday, April 14, 2018 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Pastor David Burt and Chris Wren officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2PM just before the service at Berry Funeral Home. Internment will follow in Glade United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rusty Graham, Neal Doster, Scott Griffith, Russ Paul, Mark Glenn and Dean Paul serving as pallbearers.

Flowers are optional and memorials can be made in her memory to Millstone Baptist Church.
