Doris Yarbrough Rucker

Mrs. Doris Marie Yarbrough Rucker, 90, of Elberton, wife of the late Charles Hulme Rucker, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017, at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Rucker was born in Elbert County on January 12, 1927, daughter of the late Charles Olin Yarbrough and Nan Lewis Yarbrough. She was a homemaker and piano teacher for many years.

Surviving are her son, Greg Rucker and Cyndi Payne of Athens; granddaughter, Stephanie O’Briot and her husband Lionel of Atlanta; siblings: Charles and Bobbie Yarbrough of Melbourne, FL, and Bill and Sylvia Yarbrough of Dalton; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 6, at 11 o’clock in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
