Dorothy "Dot" Smith Brown

Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Smith Brown, 91, of Lexington Hwy., Elberton, GA wife of the late Charles Allen Brown, Sr. passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Brown was born February 11, 1926 to Henry Thomas Smith and Eva Brown Smith. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Elberton and was a homemaker.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law: Charles Allen "Al" and Gayle Cleveland Brown of St. Simons, GA; Herman Thomas "Tom" and Susie Sayer Brown of Sandersville, GA; daughters and sons-in-law: Jean Brown Kidd and Billy Kidd of Hartwell, GA; Katie Brown Deems and Frank Deems of Carrollton, GA; sister: Nell Bradford of Elberton, GA; grandchildren and their spouses: Anna Moore (George), Jordan Brown, Kelli Stepp (Kye), Kati Mize (Matt), Kari Chitwood (Derek), Allen Brown, Chip Kidd (Jean), Dory Kidd Smith (Jeff), Ryan Deems (Joanna), Lauren Tucker (Chris); sixteen great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her siblings: Sam Smith, Zack Smith, Lucy Gulley, Cynthia Rucker and her twin sister Doris Marks.

A celebration of life service will be held 3PM, Thursday August 17 at First Baptist Church of Elberton. The family will receive friends from 2-3PM just before the service in the First Baptist Church of Elberton.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers to make memorials in her memory to the First Baptist Church of Elberton, 132 Heard St. Elberton, GA 30635 or to the Elbert County Library, 345 Heard St. Elberton, GA 30635.
