Miss Dorothy K. Sanders passed away at Elbert Memorial Hospital on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the age of 92.Miss Sanders was born on December 4, 1923 in Dewy Rose, Georgiato William Henry and Mary Lee Booth Sanders. Miss Sanders is survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Grizzell; nieces and nephews, Sammy Sanders (Debbie) of Elberton,Deborah Hill (Phil) of Statham, Kathy Ramsay (Kevin) of Hull, Sandra Sides (Bob) of Elberton, and Bobby Sanders, of Ohio; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews. A service to celebrate Miss Sanders' life will be held on Sunday, April 17 at 5:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home Chapel.A time of visitation for friends and family was held before the service at 4:00 p.m.Rev. Ann Mann officiated, and interment followed at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers were:Austin Sanders, Jason Sanders, Michael Sides, Jonathan Sides, Eric Winslett, Phil Hill, Kevin Ramsay, and Bob Sides. Flowers were graciously accepted, andmemorial contributions may be made to Deep Creek Baptist Church, 2335 Nickville Rd., Dewy Rose, GA30634, Coldwater United Methodist Church, 1753 Coldwater Rd., Elberton, GA30635,or charity of one’s choice.
