Mr. James ‘Doyle’ Anderson, 70, of O.W. Adams Road, Dewy Rose, husband of 30 years to Angela Cornell Anderson, finished his course in faith on Sunday, July 16, 2017, at his residence.
Mr. Anderson was born in Elbert County on April 21, 1947, son of Florence Mills and the late Alford Anderson. Doyle graduated from the University of Georgia, was a member of Philomathea Masonic Lodge #25, and Deep Creek Baptist Church. He retired from Rowan Companies, Inc., a global offshore drilling contractor. He spent many years in the North Baltic Sea then finished his duties offshore in the Gulf Coast of Louisiana. After retirement he worked alongside his brother, ‘Doug’ at Anderson Barber shop in Elberton.
Survivors include his wife, Angela Cornell Anderson; daughter, Kellie Smith and her husband Bart; mother, Florence Mills Anderson; brothers: Douglas Anderson and Joseph Edwin Anderson; grandchildren: Rylee Shae Smith and Broughton Power Smith; and a very special aunt, Mary Gaines Bailey.
A memorial service for James ‘Doyle’ Anderson was held at Deep Creek Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 19 with the Reverend Tim Adams officiating. The family received friends from 3-4PM just before the service at Deep Creek Baptist Church.
The family requests that memorials in honor of Doyle be given to Deep Creek Baptist Church of Elberton or to Homestead Hospice, 1561 Lenru Rd., Suite A, Bogart, GA 30622.
