A service to celebrate the life of Ebbie M. Hill will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at First Baptist Church, Elberton, Georgia.The service will be conducted by her son-in-law, James R. Keisler, III (Trey), with Phil Denny and Rev. Raymond Scott assisting.Burial will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park following the service.The family will receive friends at 3:00 p.m. at The Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church. Ebbie Massey Hill was born December 31, 1915 in Commerce, Jackson County, Georgia.She was born to Curt and Hattie Short Massey.She went to be with her God on April 4, 2012.She was a faithful member and Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church, Elberton, for 49 years.After moving to Columbia, SC to be near her daughter and family,she joined Riverland Hills Baptist Church where she was a member of the Lamplighters Sunday School class and also “Oasis,” which she thoroughly enjoyed. Ebbie was always there to help anyone for any reason, whether it be sewing, cooking, or just talking. Ebbie was a wonderful mother that was dedicated to her grandchildren and a loving friend.She truly cared about her family and friends in Elberton.She enjoyed many happy days with her friends at Lakeside and enjoyed cooking treats for them. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard E. Hill.She is survived by a daughter, Dana Hill Denny and son-in-law, Phil L. Denny of Columbia, SC;a son, Tim Hill of Augusta, GA; a brother, Norman Curt Massey of Goode, Virginia; and two sisters: Everette Massey Milford of Commerce, GA, and Janelle Massey Chandler of Dalton, GA.She is also survived by 4 granddaughters: April Stokes, Heather Keisler, Ashley Weather, and Blake Leverett; 4 grandsons-in-law: Tom Stokes, Trey Keisler, Nathan Weathers, and Mike Leverett;2 grandsons: Paxton Hill and Andrew Hill;and 6 great-grandchildren. She was so proud of all of them and would love to speak of them.Her love to her family was totally unconditional. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.hicksfuneral.com.
