Ed George, Jr.

Mr. Edward Paul “Ed” George, Jr., 77, of Washington, husband of 56 years to Roberta Caldwell George, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

Mr. George was born in Berwick, Pennsylvania on January 13, 1942, son of the late Edward Paul George, Sr. and Kathryn Chapin George. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a Patrolman having retired from Georgia State Patrol. Ed was a member of First Baptist Church of Washington and the church’s Friendship Sunday School Class.

In addition to his wife, Roberta, he is survived by his children and their spouses: Anthony Paul George and Lauren of Franklin, Tennessee, Robert Brian George and Tara of Washington, and Paula George Stevens and Robert of Washington; sister, Pam Barnes of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania; and seven grandchildren.

A reception celebrating Ed’s life will be held on Saturday, January 19, at 12 noon in the Fellowship Hall at First Baptist Church of Washington.
