Ms. Edna George Rayle Parham, 86, of Elberton, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.
Ms. Parham was born in Elberton on January 27, 1935, daughter of the late Boozer Rayle and Clyde Dixon Pounds Rayle. Edna had lived happily at Park Place Nursing Facility in Monroe for the last four years, where she had been lovingly cared for by the entire staff and by Mrs. Brenda Bodkin, a dear friend from Lawrenceville.
She was a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church. Edna enjoyed crocheting, visiting with patients, and watching traffic go by, always counting campers and big trucks. She was an avid Braves baseball fan.
Survivors include a sister-in-law; two nieces; one nephew; one step-brother; one aunt; and many cousins and their families.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-father, JW Pounds; and a brother, James Lynn “Bo” Rayle.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, June 29, at 1 o’cock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Dr. Gerald Harris and the Rev. Douglas Huff officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
