Mrs. Edna Irene Largent Massey, age 78, of Griffin, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010 at Regency Hospital South Atlanta. Mrs. Massey was born in Shelbyville, Illinois on October 18, 1931 to the late Franklin James Largent and the late Martha Largent. Mrs. Massey was preceded in death by her husband, Walter D. Massey. She was a member of the Pomona United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, and she enjoyed going to the Senior Center on Wednesdays. Mrs. Massey is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Allen Eugene and Martha Rawdin of Griffin, Melvin and Theresa Rawdin of Saint Augustine, FL, Joel Harris Massey of South Carolina; grandchildren, Chuck Rawdin, Reverend Michelle Rawdin, Linda Edwards, Catherine Davis, Vannassa Robinson, and Brandy Robinson; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne Largent of Towerhill, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Tanya Rawdin; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Irene Massey will be conducted on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Andy Cunningham and Reverend Mike Broome will officiate. Interment will be in the Concord United Methodist Cemetery in Elberton, GA at 4:00 p.m. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
