Edward K. "Sonny" Nash, 74, of 1454 Calhoun Falls Hwy., Elberton, died Tuesday Nov. 17, 2009. He was born in Elbert County, GA., on April 1, 1935 and was a son of the late Homer D. and Sudie Davenport Nash. He was a faithful and dedicated member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church, and was retired from the granite industry. Mr. Nash is survived by his wife of 53 years., Sue Edwards Nash. He is also survived by a son and daughter-n-law, Mark and Leigh Nash, and a daughter and son-n-law, Tina and Reid Ferrell, all of Elberton. Also surviving are four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, and one sister; Thelma Poole of Toccoa, GA. A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Thursday, Nov. 19, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Rev. Lacey Bowcock and Rev. Russell Repetske officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Elberton. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Thursday before services at the church. The family will be at the home on the Calhoun Falls Hwy. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bethlehem United Methodist Church, or to T.J. and Friends Cancer Foundation, at 1675 Deep Creek Rd., Dewy Rose, GA. 30634.
