Edward Lloyd Rice

Mr. Edward Lloyd "Ed" Rice, 76, of Elberton, husband of Faye Hawks Rice, died on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Ed was born in Webster Springs, West Virginia on March 19, 1940, to the late Calvin Ray Rice and Elsie Clevenger Rice. He was a retired tool and die maker and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Elberton. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Jean Walser Rice.

Survivors include his wife, Della Faye Hawks Rice; children: David Rice, Rhonda Rice, John Rice, and Calvin & Ruth Rice; step-sons: Roger D. Lantz and Danny J. Lantz; sister, Betty Jo Opalenik; several grandchildren; and a host of friends.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 14, at 2 o'clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the service.
