Edwin "Ed, Paed" Gibb Morris

Mr. Edwin “Ed" Gibb Morris, affectionately known as "PaEd" 73, of Indian Springs Rd., Elberton, husband of Patricia Standard Bryant passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Morris was born August 20, 1943 in Paterson, NJ to James Vincent Morris and Elizabeth Gibb Morris. He was of the Catholic Faith and attended Elberton Christian Church. He graduated from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ in 1966 with a BS in Business Administration where he majored in Accounting. After college he served in the U.S. Army as a 1st LT. till 1969 and then went to work with Johnson & Johnson as an accountant and plant controller till his retirement in 1999. Ed loved playing golf and volunteered at the Augusta National’s Masters Tournament for 10 years from 2006-2016.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years Patricia Standard Bryant; children: Brian Anthony Morris of Athens, GA; Theresa Elizabeth Morris of Atlanta, GA; Billy Bryant and Sissie Herring of Elberton, GA; Deana & Mark Crook of Elberton, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law: James Vincent “Vin” & Sue Morris, II of Ocean Pines, MD; Daniel “Dan” Patrick & Mary Beth Morris of Hammonton, NJ; Michael “Mike” Gordan & Patti Morris of New Providence, NJ; William “Bill” Joseph & Betsy Morris of Manasquan, NJ; Timothy “Tim” Alderson Morris of Spring Lake Heights, NJ; and Peter “Pete” Allen & Jeannie Morris of Toms River, NJ; grandchildren: Lexi and Walker Bryant, Stone and Slate Crook, and Lindsay Herring and many cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1PM, Thursday, May 4 at Elberton Christian Church with Rev. Jay Akin and Rev. Bill Eaton officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery with Ed’s brothers Vin, Dan, Mike, Bill, Tim and Pete serving as pallbearers. The family is at the home on Indian Springs Rd. and will receive friends from 12-1PM Thursday at Elberton Christian Church just before the service.
