Eleanor "Lena" Dubose Bailey

Eleanor "Lena" DuBose Bailey, 93, of 651 Rhodes Drive, Elberton widow of the late John Henry Bailey, Sr. passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Born in Elbert County January 6, 1919 to the late Henry DuBose and Gussie Lewis DuBose. She was a member of Tates Grove Baptist Church of Elberton and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter and son-in-law Martha Carol and Talmage Wilson of Athens, Georgia; sons and daughters-in-law John Henry and Jannie Bailey, Jr. of Elberton, Georgia; Willie O'Neal and Denise Bailey of Clarkesville, Tennessee and James Robert and Denise Bailey of Atlanta, Georgia; seven grandchildren Sylvia, Wardell, Alex, Ashlyn, Kevin, Carolyn and Marcus, five great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers Henry DuBose, J.P. DuBose, Robert DuBose, Ordell DuBose and Tate DuBose, sisters Mae Baker, Georgia DuBose, Essie DuBose and Mattie Compton. Graveside memorial services celebrating her life will be held Monday, October 1, 2012 at 10AM at Lincoln Heights Cemetery in Elberton, Georgia with Reverend Quincy Fortson officiating .
