Ellen Sikes Tiller

Mrs. Ruth Ellen Sikes Tiller, 87, of Elberton Road, Carlton, GA, wife of 50 years to the late John William “Billy” Tiller, Sr., entered into rest on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at her residence.

Mrs. Tiller was born in Point Peter, Oglethorpe County, GA on August 29, 1930, the only child of the late Daniel Boone Sikes and Ruth Fannie Viola Thomas Sikes. She was a homemaker and a member of Vesta Baptist Church. Mrs. Tiller loved working in her flower gardens and was especially fond of lilies.

Surviving are her three children: Sheila and Larry King, Deborah Tiller, and Johnny and Winnie Tiller, all of Carlton, GA; two grandchildren: Billy Tiller and Wayne and Jennifer King; and five great-grandchildren: Breanna, Bryson, Jenna, Riley, and Blaine.

The funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, July 22, at 2 o’clock in the Chapel of the Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Russell Bruce officiating. Interment will follow in Burt’s United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00p.m. on Saturday evening.
