Ellen Yeargin Madden

Mrs. Ellen Yeargin Madden, 93, formerly of Washington Hwy., Elberton, GA wife of the late Howard Madden passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016.

Mrs. Madden was born November 14, 1922 in Elberton, GA to the late Will Henry Yeargin and Kate Ellen Sanders Yeargin. She was a member of Fortsonia Baptist Church and was a retired machine operator in the textile industry.

Survivors include daughters Judy Gladstone of Greenwood, SC Brenda R. Lowe of Cherryville, NC; son Henry H. Madden of Elberton, GA; sisters Theo Worley and Katherine Fernandez both of Elberton, GA; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by brothers James Yeargin, Clarence Yeargin and Charles Yeargin.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held 11AM, Tuesday September 20 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Lowe and Rev. Al Butler officiating. Private interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park with Michael Madden, Cliff Yeargin, Ray Yeargin, Kevin Madden, Michael Fernandez, Russell Hall serving as pallbearers and Terry Madden, Billie Madden, Michael Yeargin and Lewis Fernandez serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends from 7-9PM Monday night at Berry Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested to please make memorials in her honor to Fortsonia Baptist Church, 2616 Washington Highway, Elberton, GA 30635.
