Eva Mae Stratton

Mrs. Eva Mae Wideman Stratton, 76, of Athens, Georgia passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Athens Heritage . Mrs. Stratton was born in Washington, Georgia to the late Rene′ Watson and Susie Truett Wideman.She was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Stratton, an infant son, Grover Kelly, and a brother, George Wideman.Mrs. Stratton loved gardening, and also enjoyed spending time on arts and craft projects. Survivors include her children: Gail Fleeman of Athens, Barbara Runiln (George) of Greenville, SC, Roger Stratton (Suzanne) of Athens, and Tony Stratton (Lisa) of Danielsville.She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one brother, and three sisters. A service to celebrate Mrs. Stratton’s life was held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home, with Pastor Janice Loggin officiating.A time of visitation was held just prior to the service.Interment followed at Elmhurst Cemetery, with Ty Wood, Stanley Wood, Bryce Nix, Noah Stratton, Jamie Wideman, and David Camacho serving as pallbearers Flowers were graciously accepted. Arrangements for Mrs. Eva Mae Stratton were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
