Evelyn Rice Burney

Evelyn Rice Burney, 85, of 2117 Dr. George Ward Road, Elberton, widow of the late Flem Burney died Wednesday January 5, 2011. Born in Elbert County she was a daughter of the late Elmer Rice and Zelma Ray Rice. She was a member of Elberton Church of God, and retired from the textile industry. Survivors include her daughter Linda Maxwell of Elberton, GA, sisters Lenolia Harvell of Elberton, GA and Letha Dickerson of Bowman, GA, brothers Ben Rice of Bowman, GA and Henry T. Rice of Royston, GA, three grandchildren Angela Maxwell, Fred Kerry Maxwell, and Tully Maxwell, thirteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Thursday January 6, 2011 at 5PM in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Leon Suttles officiating. Inurnment will be in Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery. Berry Funeral Home is respectfully in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mrs. Evelyn Rice Burney.
