Mr. Forrest ‘Alan’ Seymour, better known as “The Produce Man”, age 68 of Elbert Street, Elberton, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital following a sudden illness.
Alan was born in Elberton on January 28, 1952, son of the late Joseph Virgil Seymour and the late Loretta Whitmire Seymour. He was a 1970 graduate of Elbert County High School and a 1974 graduate of the University of Georgia. Alan worked as a Certified Public Account until he returned home and joined his parents at Seymour’s Produce. He was devoted to his customers and loved each and every one dearly. Alan coached Elbert County Little League for many years.
Survivors include his sons: Forrest ‘Everett’ Seymour of Elberton, Alan ‘Garrett’ Seymour and Amy Sutton of Gainesville, and Carroll ‘Chase’ Seymour and Leah Branan Seymour of Lawrenceville; siblings: Rodney and Annette Seymour and Elaine and Tom Oglesby, all of Elberton; three grandchildren: Rayna, Weston, and Hudson; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Graveside services celebrating Alan’s life will be held on Saturday, October 17, at 2 o’clock at Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will greet friends following the service.
