Frances Combs West

Mrs. Frances Combs West, 101, formerly of Elberton, GA, wife of the late James Clayton West, Jr. passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017.

Mrs. West was born October 5, 1916 in Washington, GA to Philip Wooten Combs and Gussie Lanford Combs. She was homemaker and member of Scott Blvd. Baptist Church in Decatur, GA.

She is survived by her grandson: Scott Black of Columbus, GA and great-grandson: Samuel Black.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her daughter: Judy Ann West Black; sisters: Mary Helen Thornton, Elizabeth Mantooth; brothers: Farmer W. Combs and Edwin L. Combs.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held 3PM, Saturday, December 30 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Adams officiating. Interment will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-3PM just before the service at Berry Funeral Home.
