Frances M Dixon

Frances Mauldin Dixon, 94, of 2593 Dr. George Ward Road, Elberton, entered into rest at Hart County Hospital on Sunday evening, August 1, 2010. Born on January 8, 1916 in Elbert County, Ga.,she was the daughter of the late John William Mauldin and Mattie Evelyn Wansley. She was a dedicated and devoted member of the Eliam United Methodist Church for many years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lester H. Dixon; sisters, Marjorine Mauldin and Jewette Higginbotham. Mrs. Dixon was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother great-great grandmother and friend. Survivors include daughters, Barbara Maxine (Brian) Metzker of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Shelby Jean (Jerry) Beal of Jonesboro, Ga. Kay (Joe) Adams of Hartwell, Ga. ; 9 grandchildren;13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sister , Eugenia Herndon of Elberton, Ga. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 from the Chapel of the Hicks Funeral Home with Reverend Wes Privett and Mr. Jerry Beal officiating. Mrs. Dixon will be laid to rest next to her husband, Lester, in Forest Hills Memorial LPark. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Hicks Funeral Home.
