Frances Patterson Winkler Greenway

Frances Patterson Winkler Greenway, 84, of 2810 Guy Wilson Rd., Elberton, Georgia, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011 at AnMed Hospital in Anderson, South Carolina. Mrs. Greenway was born in Walhalla, SC, to the late Wilburn and Maude Patterson Winkler on May 28, 1926.She retired after more than 40 years of employment at Jackson Mills in Iva, South Carolina. Mrs. Greenway is survived by two nephews:Greg (Susan) Patterson of Anderson, SC, and Gary (Jo) Patterson of Greenwood, SC.She is also survived by great-nephews, Drew (Tina) Patterson of Sumter, SC, and Ryan and Kyle Patterson, of Greenwood, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carter W. Greenway, and a sister, Sue Ellen Patterson. A funeral service to celebrate Mrs. Greenway’s life will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Rock Branch Baptist Church, Elberton, Georgia.Visitation for family and friends will be held at Rock Branch Baptist Church on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at the Rock Branch Baptist Church Cemetery immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to Rock Branch Baptist Church, 2150 Coldwater Rd., Elberton, GA 30635.The families of Mrs. Greenway will be at their respective homes.
