Miss Frances Schroeder, 92, of Washington, Georgia, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2025, in Tignall, Georgia. Born on October 12, 1932, in Tignall, Georgia, Frances spent her life surrounded by family, friends, and a community she deeply cherished.

Frances was a person of unwavering kindness and joy. Her laughter was infectious, and her presence brought warmth to those around her. A devoted Christian, Frances lived her faith through acts of love and service. As a member of Washington Chapel, she found strength in her beliefs and shared that strength with others through compassion and generosity.

Though Frances never had children of her own, she had a special place in her heart for little ones. She volunteered at the primary school, helping children with reading and encouraging their growth with patience and care. Her dedication extended to the Washington Health Care Center, where she brought joy to residents by assisting with Bingo games and other activities. Frances had a gift for making people feel valued and appreciated.

One of Frances’s favorite pastimes was shopping—not just for the items themselves but for the opportunity to see familiar faces along the way. She delighted in catching up with friends during outings, and the happiness in her voice after such visits was unmistakable.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Schroeder and Alice Slay Schroeder; her sister, Catherine Schroeder Nance and her husband, Luther Nance; and her brother, James Schroeder. She is lovingly remembered by her niece, Claire Nance Drake; nephew, Mike Henry Nance; great-niece, Cathy Harper-Drake and her husband Morgan; great-niece, Leslie Cheryl Drake, and her son, her great-great-nephew, Kane Drake; as well as many cousins who will cherish her memory.

On Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Berry Funeral Home in Elberton, Georgia, the family will receive friends and family at 1:00 PM, and the Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 PM. Officiating will be the Rev. Tommy Darracott. Following the service, a graveside service will take place at Tignall Baptist Church Cemetery in Tignall, Georgia.

Frances’s life was one of love, laughter, and kindness. Her memory will continue to bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
