Mrs. Frances Smith Britt, 77, of Stoney Ridge Road, Washington, formerly of Washington Highway, Elberton, wife of the late James E. Britt, Sr., passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013, at her residence. Mrs. Britt was born in Franklin County, May 14, 1936, to the late Walter Lee Smith and Monnie Pearson Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Flatwoods Pentecostal Holiness Church. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Teresa Norris of Hartwell, Pam Britt of Washington, and James E. Britt, Jr. of Royston; granddaughter, Brittany Norris of Hartwell; great-grandson, Brantley Gage Clark of Hartwell; sisters, Marien S. Brown of Elberton and Louien S. Lee of Hartwell; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, November 20, at 2:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family is at the residence of Marien S. Brown, 1207 Old Hartwell Road, Elberton, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Tuesday evening. Flowers will be greatly appreciated.
