Fred "Blue" Smith

Mr. Fred Talmadge “Blue” Smith, 84, of Lexington Hwy., Elberton, GA passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023 at his home.

Mr. Smith was born June 12, 1938 to Sam Smith and Mollie Saxon Smith. He was a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church and a co-founder of Andrews and Smith Body Shop.

He is survived by his wife Mildred L. York Smith of Elberton; daughter and son-in-law: Deborah and Mike Wood of Carlton, GA, son and daughter-in-law: Teresa and Danny Smith of Blairsville, GA and one grandson: Zachary Wood of Carlton, GA.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings: Sam Joe Smith, Ray Smith, Kathryn Andrews and Onzelle Tiller.

Graveside funeral services to celebrate Blue’s life will be held 2PM, Sunday, March 5 at Forest Hills Memorial Park with Rev. Douglas Huff officiating. The family is at the home on Lexington Highway and will receive friends from 12:30PM to 1:30PM just prior the service at Berry Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Don Andrews, Dean Andrews, David Smith, Paul Huff, Bobby Moon and Daryl McClellon.
