Freddie A. Smith

Frederick "Freddie" A. Smith, 66, of 266 North Oliver Street, Elberton, GA passed away Monday May 30, 2011 at Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, TN. Born in Elberton, GA November 26, 1944 to the late Dubie A. Smith and Mildred Swords Smith. He was of the Presbyterian Faith, he was owner / operator of FAS Monument Company, and a U.S. Marine Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. Left to cherish his memories include a sister and brother-in-law Carter and Guy Yaeger of Chuluota, FL, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Johnnie Nell Smith and a brother Charles Smith. A celebration of his life will be held Friday June 3, at 4PM in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Purvis officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes. The family has requested in lieu of flowers to make memorials in his honor to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311.
