Fredrick Louie Easom

Mr. Fredrick Louie Easom, of Sunrise Ct., Elberton, GA husband of Elaine Easom, died Saturday, June 10, 2017, surrounded by family, after a long illness.

He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Elaine Brown Easom, devoted son Matt, beloved daughter-in-law Barbara, and his favorite granddaughter Cally. Also surviving are brothers and their wives Bill and Ann Easom of Cordele, Ken and Maxine Easom of Athens, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Louie and Lucille Hall Easom of Albany, and a special aunt, Margaret Murphey.

He was born April 5, 1943 in West Point, GA and graduated from Crisp County High where he was the football quarterback and kicker, and also ran track. He earned a Bachelors Degree from Georgia Southwestern. He was an U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam from 1967-1969. He retired from Southeastern Power Administration after 40 years of Federal service as an accountant and financial manager. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and an enthusiastic University of Alabama fan. When he was active he enjoyed photography, tennis, swimming and skiing.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 16, at 11AM in the First United Methodist Church Cross and Flame Building. The family will meet friends from 10-11AM prior to the service. Entombment will be in Elmhurst Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Elberton or to the Elberton Salvation Army.
