Mr. Gary Collier Lunsford, 55, of Old Middleton Road, Elberton, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016, at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mr. Lunsford was born in Elbert County on February 2, 1961, son of Collier and Sybil Grimes Lunsford. He was a member of Elberton Christian Church, and was the co-owner of Lunsford Granite in Elberton for many years until he became disabled. Gary enjoyed fishing, was an avid football fan, and LOVED Hank Williams. Jr.!
Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Sybil and Collier Lunsford; son, Shane Lunsford; two grandchildren; and sisters: Barbara L. Krolikowski and her husband George and Myra L. Woodall, all of Elberton. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his former wife, Nancy Fields Lunsford.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, April 30, at 2 o'clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Jordan officiating. Inurnment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
The family is at the home of his parents, 1085 Country Club Road, Elberton, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home beginning at 1 o'clock on Saturday.
Flowers are optional and charitable memorial donations may be made in memory of Mr. Lunsford to Nuway Christian Recovery Home, 2940 Washington Highway, Elberton, Georgia 30635.
