Gary Fortson

Mr. H. Gary Fortson, age 54 of Dewy Rose passed away July 13, 2009 following an extended illness. Mr. Fortson is preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Annie Laura Fortson; and father-in-law, J.W. Davis. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Patricia Fortson; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Buddy Stephens; grandchildren, Tyler and Heather Stephens; sisters, Connie Carter, Lisa Chandler, Elaine Short and Lynn Herman; brothers, Ronnie and Alex Fortson; mother-in-law, Patsy Davis; and brother-in-law, Wayne Davis. A special niece and a number of friends also survive. Funeral Services for Mr. Fortson will be held Thursday, 2pm in the chapel of Hicks Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Purvis officiating. Burial will following in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 6-8pm on Wednesday evening. Hicks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mr. H. Gary Fortson.
