Gene Childs

Mr. Larry Gene Childs, Jr., 50, of Fred Prince Drive, Elberton passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mr. Childs was born October 14, 1964 in Elberton, GA to the late Larry Gene Childs, Sr. and Patricia Belle Mauldin Childs. He was a foreman at Hillcrest Granite Company. Left to cherish his memories are a son Larry Gene Childs, III of Elberton, GA; daughter Kayla Morris of Elberton, GA; siblings Tammy Childs of Elberton, GA; Sissy Childs of Elberton, GA; Tracey Childs Riner of Woodstock, GA; Bubba Childs of Elberton, GA; Wayne Childs of Elberton, GA; Rusty Childs of Elberton, GA and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mauldin, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Childs, Sr. and a niece Erin Niccole LeFevre Jones. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 5PM, Saturday, September 19, 2015 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Hart officiating. The family is at the home of Wayne Childs 356 Heard St., Elberton and will receive friends from 3-5PM just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family has requested to please make memorials in his honor to Larry Gene Childs, III Education Fund at any Pinnacle Bank location.
