George A Ward

Mr. George Addicus Ward Jr., age 84 of Elberton, died February 4, 2009.Mr. Ward served in the United States Navy. He was born in Elbert County to the late Dr. George A. Ward, Sr. and Corinne Dye Ward.He was preceded in death by his sister, Marion W. Hudson. He is survived by his wife of fifty five years, Iris Ward and daughter Nancy W. (and husband Larry) Bessinger of Elberton; son George A. (his wife Young Ae) Ward, III of Seoul South Korea;granddaughter Corrie Elise Bessinger of Commerce; and sisters Laura W. Smith of Elberton, Mary B. Munnel of Athens. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7th at 11:00 a.m., in Eliam United Methodist Church with remains to lie in state at 10:00 a.m.Rev. Wes Privett officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials be made to Eliam UMC, located at 2130 Dr George Ward Rd, Elberton. Hicks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mr. George Addicus Ward Jr.
