George Franklin Johnson

George Franklin Johnson, 86, of 1882 Lincolnton Highway, Elberton, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 7, 2010, at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Born on January 13, 1924, in Elberton, Georgia, he was a self employed contractor and farmer.Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his son; Jimmy Johnson, brothers; Ralph Johnson, Haskell Johnson and J. W. Johnson, sisters; Hazel Evans, Virginia Moss and Rachel Worley. Survivors include his wife; Mable Johnson, children; Steve Johnson, Van Johnson and Christine Hampton; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Several relatives and friends also survive. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 11am from the Bethel E. Baptist Church with the Reverend Scott Mize and Harvey Peurifoy officiating.Visitation will be at Bethel E.
