George P. Rosser

Mr. George Phillip Rosser, 88, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at The Richard M. Campbell Veteran’s Nursing Home in Anderson, South Carolina. Mr. Rosser was born in Bowman, Georgia to the late Paul and Blanche Hall Rosser.He was a retired career veteran of the United States Army.Mr. Rosser was a 50-year member of The Masonic Lodge and The Shriners. Survivors include his sons:George Rosser, Jr. of Anderson, SC, and James Rosser and wife, Georgina, of Athens; two daughters: Paula McDonnel and husband, Glen, and Lynn Allen and husband, Steve, all of Atlanta.He also leaves behind three sisters: Pauline Davis of Greenwood, SC, Linda Lewis, and Janet Ruff, both of Elberton; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Rehoboth Baptist Church in Bowman, with Rev. Steve Ferguson officiating.Interment followed in the church cemetery with Military Honors and Masonic Rites. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Rehoboth Baptist Church General Fund, P.O. Box 487, Bowman, Georgia 30624. Arrangements for Mr. George Phillip Rosser were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
