George Walton Smith

Mr. George Walton Smith, 76, of Sarasota, FL passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Mr. Smith was born November 2, 1936 in Carlton, GA to the late Henry Lawrence and Lou Hilda Harrison Smith. Mr. Smith is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Merry Beth and Rex Raymond; and grandchildren, Trey and Mollie Raymond, all of Sarasota. He is also survived by two sisters: Jessie (Jerry) Streat, and Barbara Cleveland;and a brother, Larry Smith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded by two brothers, Clayton and Donald Smith. A memorial service will be held Monday, December 17, 2012, at Burts United Methodist Church in Carlton, Georgia at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Doug Bower officiating.Inurnment will follow at the church cemetery.
