Mr. George Sorrow, age 60, of Dewy Rose, passed away June 25, 2009.Mr. Sorrow was born in Madison County to Dewey Sorrow and Gladys Baxter Sorrow.He was a renown sculptor and carved many magnificent memorials installed all over the United States.He was owner of G & G Granite Co. in Dewy Rose and Drake Billiards in Royston. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge Philomathea #25 in Elberton.He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Sorrow. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Geraldine Sorrow, of Dewy Rose; daughters, Rose Sorrow of the home, LeCona (her husband, Jeff) Pullian of Sandy Cross; grandson, Justin Pullian of Carnesville; mother and step-father, Gladys and Nathan Parson, of Danielsville; sisters, Darline Toole, Pauline Cloud, Debra Minish, Sally Sorrow, and Lucy Gaddis; brothers, Jimmy Sorrow, Wayne Smith, and Dean Smith; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27, 11:00 AM Graveside at Elmhurst Cemetery.The family will receive friends Friday evening 7 – 9 PM at the funeral home.
