Mr. George Wayne Harrison, 74, of Jaudon Road, Elberton, husband of Beth Rucker Harrison, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital with his family at his side.
George was born in Elbert County on July 13, 1946, son of the late James Lee Harrison and Mae Belle Evans Harrison. He was a 1965 graduate of Elbert County High School and the owner/operator of Sparkle Clean Pressure Washing. George had previously worked at numerous places in the granite industry and was a member of Elberton Christian Church. He served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves as a petroleum specialists.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Rucker Harrison of the home; son, Christopher Wayne Harrison of Elberton; four legged companion, “Puppy John”; siblings: Mary Helen Phillips of Easley, SC, Donald Ray Harrison and his wife, Evelyn, of Lexington, GA, Dorothy Ashley and her husband Billy of Calhoun Falls, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, James Robert Harrison.
Funeral services celebrating George’s life will be held on Friday, February 5, at 3 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Adams officiating.
The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Thursday, February 4.
