Gertie Propes Shaver

Mrs. Gertie Ava Virginia Propes Shaver, 77, of Green Acres Road, Rock Branch Community, wife of the late Rev. Ervin Louis Shaver, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Shaver was born on February 14, 1938, in Anderson, SC to the late Fred Jackson Propes and Gertie Eliza Corn Propes. She was a homemaker and a Pentecostal Holiness pastor, having served by her husband's side for many years. Left to cherish her memories are children and their spouses: Teresa and Dave Haggstrom of Elberton, Louis Michael and Hollie Shaver of Elberton, Angela Shaver of Anderson, SC, and David Marcus and Tara Shaver of Antreville, SC; silbings: Curtis R. Propes of Elberton and Mary Lou Parker of Mountain City, GA; grandchildren: Tiffany, Amber, Tamara, Sydney, Jacob, Ava-Olivia, Isaiah, Julia, Marcus; and great-grandchild, Ryder. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, February 25, at 1:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Rock Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family is at the residence of Dave and Teresa Haggstrom on Green Acres Road and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Tuesday evening.
